Stamptember Challenge: Stamp It!

Stamptember is here!

Over at Simon Says Stamp, Stamptember has begun and there are so many neat things do on! You can see their new release and collaborations here.

This is my favorite stamp they have released for the month!

c.SSS/ME

It's a collaboration stamp with Mama Elephant and I just have to say it is the cutest stamp set in the world! It features superheros! How does it get better than that? :) I cannot wait until the release the Lawn Fawn collaboration because I know it is going to be to die for and if you haven't guessed it yet - I  absolutely love Lawn Fawn!

Here is the card I made for their current challenge: Stamp It! (digital stamps not allowed.)

Isn't he the cutest? The Greeting Farm created a new Spooky kit ( just in time for Halloween) and I knew I had to make a card for each of the stamps in this kit!

Here is another card I created using the same stamp set:

Another cute images! Btw, I am very sorry about the lighting in my pictures. The lighting in my craft room is horrible! I actually bought a speciality light just to take pictures of my cards and it will be here soon. In the meantime, I think I am going to start taking pictures outside because this dark lighting things is going to ruin my cards :(

Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed seeing my two new creations. Be sure to head over to the SSS Wednesday Challenge Blog to see every else's beautiful creations!

Until next time,

Lawnscaping Challenge #89

It's time for another one of my favorite challenges - the Lawn Fawn challenge!

Here was the challenge for this week:

And here is the card I created.

For me, one-layer cards are a bit difficult! Not only that, but all though I love the Landscaping Challenges they are definitely challenging! That's a good thing though! :)

For this card, I used the Into the Woods Stamp Set and the Starry Backdrops stamp set. I did use embossing powder , but that was allowed! :) I used some copic coloring and some distress inks to blend the background and create the characters.

Whenever I see the lawn fawn challenge for the week, I always aspire to do something different or work with a different stamp set. Lawn Fawn just had a new release - so for future cards I cannot wait to use their two new lines - Sweater Weather and Snow Day.

I just wanted to say - Lawn Fawn creates beautiful stamps set, and they always have the cutesy design but this time they created elegant type of stamps.

This release is the cutest release I have ever seen! I cannot wait to get the whole release! :)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and don't forget to head over to the Lawnscaping Challenge blog to see everyone's take on the one-layer challenge.

Until next time,

Lawnscaping Challenge #88

I love Lawn Fawn! They create the cutest stamps, paper pads, and even twine! These lawnscaping challenges are becoming my favorite!

With that being said, here is the card I made this week using the theme ... TEXTURE!

The "texture" aspect of this card is the embossing paste background. I really want to get a water movement type feel and I thought the stars in the background really stood out.

I am really proud of where these challenges are taking my creativity. They are really driving my inspiration and my ideas for future cards.

Let me know what you think of this card, and don't forget to visit the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog to see everyone else's designs too! :)

Mama Elephant + Me Challenge

Raise your hand if you are a Mama Elephant fan!

*raises hand high*

I LOVE Mama Elephant products. They are on the top of my list (right next to Lawn Fawn lol).

When I found out they had a challenge blog, I was super excited! As I have said before, I love challenges. I love for someone to give me a topic and then for me to create something with it.

The August challenge was to create a project using ... WATERCOLORS + BIRTHDAYS!

For me, this was my perfect challenge. Watercolors and Mama Elephant, how perfect!

This was the card I created for the Mama Elephant + Me Challenge.

I used the "Up and Away" Stamp Set for this project.

This was my first time using ribbon in a project. It's slightly slanted, but overall I am very happy with the outcome. We all have to start somewhere!!

Let me know what you think about this card!! Do you want to see more watercoloring cards?? Don't forget to head over to the Mama Elephant + Me Challenge Blog to see what everyone else created! :)

Simon Wednesday Challenge: Summer

What do you think about when hear the word "summer"?

I think about .. summer treats!

From nice cool lemonade by the pool to cold cold ice cream by the park. I love summer treats!

My boyfriend works at an ice cream shop so when I told him "What do you think about when you hear the word summer?" He replied. "Ice Cream because work gets more busy so I have to work more." He made me laugh, and his reply was the inspiration for this card.

For this card, I aimed for a dark background with a light image. As you can tell from the photo, I went for a bit of lightness in the watercoloring of the ice cream.

This week, I've mainly been working on my photography skills and watercoloring skills. I've created a list on what type of cards I want to make and work on and how I can further my crafting skills. I'm always looking for inspiration in little things.

For this card I used:
- Lawn Fawn 'Here's the Scoop' Stamp Set
- Bazzil Cardstock in White and Black
- Assorted Sequins
- Sakura Koi Watercolors

I hope you enjoyed this card and don't forget to the Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog to see everyone else's creations! Let me know what you think about this card! :)

Lawnscaping Challenge: Back to School

August is ... Back to School month!

I return to college August 25th and that makes me super excited because I love school! I love the smell of fresh school supplies and a new classroom. Things like this are what drive me to become a schoolteacher in the future!

For this week's Lawnscaping Challenge, the goal was to create a Back to School themed project.

This was the card I created. As I was looking through my stamp sets to use for this challenge, I found I didn't really have a 'teacher' or 'back to school' themed stamp in my stash. (Note to self: Purchase a few Back to School stamps lol) Luckily, I found this stamp set and I loved the way the card turned out. I used the Science of Love Stamp Set for this project.

For this card, the supplies I used were:
- Lawn Fawn 'Science of Love' Stamp Set
- Lawn Fawn 'Science of Love' Coordinating Dies
- Ranger Craft Sheet
- Sakura Koi Watercolors
- Spectrum Noir Markers
- Any time of Black Twine

Fill free to leave a comment on this blog post letting me know what you think about the card! and Don't forget to head over to the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog to see everyone else's creations!

Thanks for stopping by!

Evolving as a Crafter

It takes time to evolve.
It also take time to figure out what you want to do and how you what to do it.

That's what I spent the last two weeks doing.

Before my vacation to California, I didn't think about crafting nor did I think about keeping up with my Project Life. I just thought about my vacation.

After my vacation was over, I sat at my desk and I thought ... "what inspires me?" "what makes me me?" "what do I want to do?"

And what was the first thing I did? ... I made a card.

The inspiration for this card came from the waters of California. I wanted to make my boyfriend a "Thank you for taking me on a wonderful vacation card." and thus, this beauty was born.

I found what I was searching for in card-making. I made three beautiful cards in one sitting.

I developed a new skill - lighting techniques. I even started taking a photography class to learn how to take better lighted photos.

I found my creativity in one sitting, and I love it. I love what I can make with cards. I love the ambition and dedication I have to making at least one card a week to one card a day.

I love challenges, so I'm participating in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog from now on.

I am a goal to further my crafting career and abilities and I know I will accomplish it! This post is a post not only for me, but to others that feel they've lost their 'creativity spunk'.

That spunk will come back and it will come back with a vengeance. That vengeance will spark and have you create 5-10 layouts a week or 5-10 cards a week. Enjoy that spunk - heck, I know I will.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Hello!

For this week's card, I decided to make a card based on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - You Gotta Have Friends.

I love challenges. They inspire me to create new things each week, and I love Simon Says Stamp so it's two of my favorite things in one! :)

I made this card using the Mama Elephant stamp 'Tree Friends.' I also used some embossing powder and vellum for the sentiment and some distress ink in the background.

As a beginning card maker, it takes time to find new techniques and for this card, I used some new techniques that I've been inspired.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made and I hope to upload a version of it soon to Youtube.

Thank you!
Angela.
